Perfume Review

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck

This perfume had been on my wishlist for quite a while! I had seen so many people talking about and reviewing it on YouTube and it sounded really good! There was a sale on at The Perfume Shop so I managed to get the 50ml bottle for only £18.50 down from £28.50 which I thought was a bargain!

It comes in a really pretty purple and yellow box with gold detail and on the top there is a small 13 (Taylor's lucky number). The bottle itself is purple too and where it hits the light, it has a sort of rainbow effect. If you hold up to the light then it becomes see through which is really cool. The lid of the bottle is gold with pretty detailing on it and just below it there is a small chain with 3 little charms on it; a birdcage, a dove and a little spiked thing which may be a star or something.

The perfume itself has a pretty sweet scent and is described as vanilla, honey and hibiscus with bass notes of peach and sandlewood. I can smell most of these things but I would also say it smells mildly musky. It's really nice and I think it could be worn all year round and would be especially great during the summer and autumn time. It could be worn day or night too so it is really practical.

This is a really good perfume and I would definitely pay full price for it! If you are thinking about getting it and you live near a Perfume Shop or want to order it from their website while it's still on sale, I'll leave the web address here x

Latest Purchases

Latest Purchases

Over the past couple of weeks I have picked up quite a lot of new products from boots. I have been really pleased with all the products I've bought so thought I would share my views on them with you. I purchased things from nail polishes to makeup brushes and I love them all! (All prices are taken from boots.com)

Real Techniques Core Collection

When I was in Boots, I saw some Real Techniques brushes which I had had my eye on for quite a long time. I found the Core Collection for only £21.99 which I thought was an amazing price! The collection consists of a detailer brush, a pointed foundation brush, a buffing brush and a contour brush.

Detailer Brush

This brush is so tiny and I haven't really used it that much. I did use it a couple of times with concealer on some blemishes and it was really good and blended the concealer in nicely. I also feel that it would be really good with eyeliners or eyeshadows and also as a lip brush.

Pointed Foundation Brush

Again this brush is really soft but I have only used it for foundation once or twice as I find that it's pretty small. However, this brush is perfect for concealer under the eyes and also around the nose area as the soft bristles blend in the concealer so that it looks really natural.

Buffing Brush

This is probably my favourite out of the 4 brushes. This is perfect for me as I am trying to wear foundation less and only wear powder on a day to day basis. This brush is so good for working the powder into the skin, giving you a really flawless finish. Like all the brushes, the white bristles at the top are the softest so it feels really nice and gentle on your face.

Contour Brush

As its called the contour brush, this is perfect for contouring and highlighting your face. I love to use this brush to apply highlighter and sometimes blusher to my cheeks but I never wear bronzer, however, I suppose it would be really good for applying that too.

I love all of these brushes and I really like how soft and dense they are. They don't shed when you use or wash them which is really good too. The case they come in is really handy too because you can use it as a travel or carry case but also as a stand for the brushes.

Toni&Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray

This is a sea salt spray which is made to add body and texture to your hair, with light hold without being crunchy. I like the way it makes my hair look too, it sort of gives the effect of beachy waves without all the trouble of heat. I like to apply this in two different ways: after shampooing and conditioning, I like to scrunch it through my hair before and during drying and also once dry by brushing my hair and scrunching it through. The price for this 75ml is an amazing £2.19 and for the larger 200ml is £7.19. I feel that this product is definitely worth the price but I just wish it had a bit more hold.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer

This concealer is amazing! I bought it in the shade Light 2 and it is perfect for full coverage on dark under eye circles. I like to use this in the morning under my eyes and around my nose and I blend it out with my Real Techniques Pointed Foundation Brush. I then like to set it with a pressed powder. This is my all time favourite concealer and even beats the Benefit Boi-ing Comcealer! And it only costs £4.19 whereas the Benefit one is more than £16.00! I will definitely be repurchasing this product again and again.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

I got this lip stain in the colour 001 Honey which is a sort of pinky brown which is really a natural colour. I love it so much and have worn it everyday since I bought it and the colour lasts on my lips for around 6 hours, even after eating or drinking which makes it really good for school or work. I like how it's in a crayon form, just like the Clinique Chubby Sticks but only costs £7.99 which is really reasonable for a great product like this. I also find it quite moistursing and it hasn't ever dried out my lips.

Maybelline Rocket Volum' Express Mascara

If you want this mascara, buy it now at Boots because it's only £5.99 down from £7.99 which is amazing! I like to apply one coat of this mascara to my eyelashes and it makes them really really long and volumonous! After one or two coats it will begin to get pretty clumpy so you have to work the brush through quite a few times to un-clumpify it. I also make sure to wipe all the excess mascara of the wand before applying it to my lashes as it comes out with lots of product on it and the formula is pretty liquidy, but appart from all that, this mascara is so so good! (Also, the wand is really similar to the one on the Benefit They're Real mascara)

Barry M Nail Paint (middle)

I had been looking for a pretty glittery nail polish for quite a while but hadn't really found one I really loved until I came across this, it's a really nice clear nail polish with millions of tiny pink and gold glitters through it and it is in the colour 337 Pink Multi Glitter. I only have to apply 2 coats to get a really full on glittery nail with this polish so it is perfect! It also dries really quickly which is always really good. I found it lasted (with a top and bottom coat) around 3 days before it began to chip slightly and for only £2.99 it is definitely worth it!

17 Lasting Fix Nail Polish

I really needed a new clear nail polish as my previous one had began to go really sticky and gloopy. I picked up this 17 one in the colour Clear (obviously!) and I find that it is really good as a top and base coat as it applies really quickly and dries really fast! It also adds a really nice glossy shine to your nails if you are using it on its own or as a top coat. I also find it reduces chipping if I'm using it as a top coat which is perfect.

I'm really pleased with everything I bought, the brushes especially because I'd been wanting them for ages! I apologise that I have not blogged in ages but I have just finished re-doing my room and I had been spending a lot of time on that! I need new ideas for blog posts too so if you want me to do any reviews or anything, just let me know x

Technic Nail Varnish

Technic Nail Varnish

So for my birthday maybe 1-2 years ago I got 5 nail polishes in really pretty colours by Technic from my older sister. I had never really got round to trying all the colours to be honest but I found them all last week and thought I would try them all out.

Arctic Ice

This is a really pretty icy blue/green colour with purple undertones and little shimmers which looked really nice on my nails. I found that I could get a colour as solid as this after around 3-4 thin coats of the colour. If you want a more sheer colour, I would use 1-2 coats as it still looks really pretty but is also very subtle.

Orchid Mist

Again, this light pink colour was very shimmery on the nails however this colour only required 2-3 coats to get a nice solid colour. It also looks really nice as a sheer wash of pink over the nails after 1 thin coat but I preferred it a bit more solid.

Persian Rose

After around 2-3 coats, I could build a pretty pink/red colour with this polish but apply another coat or two and you can achieve a deep red which I love! This colour doesn't have any shimmer in it but is great as it is very buildable.

Kool Kiwi

This colour is really different to colours I would normally choose to wear. It is a really bright green colour which takes around 5-6 coats to get a good solid colour like mine which is a bit of a pain but looks really nice once it's on. The colour looks quite gold once it's on but I love it.

Turkish Sea

This denim blue colour only took around 2 coats for a nice solid colour like this. I love the subtle shimmers in this colour and I love how it looks quite metallic once it's on your nails. I also found that this colour was very buildable.

Overall I love these colours and found them all to be pretty sheer but very buildable! The downside to these polishes is that they take a really long time to dry but its worth it! After using a top and base coat (17 Clear Lasting Fix Nail Polish), I found that the nail polishes would last for 1-2 days before beginning to chip slightly.

I reccomend all of these colours but if I had to choose one I would probably go with Arctic Ice because the colour is really different and pretty. I'm really sorry about how messy my nails are painted, I  h a t e  painting them! xo
