Revlon Just Bittem Kissable Balm Stain

I'm sorry for being a rubbish human but again, I've been so busy! Anyway, here is a post on a product I am absolutely addicted to ~ Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the colour Crush. If I had to name 1 Autumn/Winter makeup essential, this would be it.

This is the most perfect berry/wine colour for winter and the formula is amazing with really good colour pigment! It is really long lasting and is really moisturising which is always great. It also has a minty smell which is a plus. Not much left to say except that this could possibly be my favourite lip product of all time as it does everything it promises, it's a balm and a stain! I defo recommend getting it now so that you can have it for winter because it's such a perfect colour for this season.

Sleek 'Rose Gold' Blush

I bought this a while back and I'm sure, by now, you've heard a lot about this blush. Before I got it, I'd heard nothing about it and just picked it up for the pretty colour and high pigmentation but before I knew it, it was suddenly raved about by ever beauty blogger and vlogger on the planet. So here it is, another review of the fabulous Rose Gold blush by Sleek!

I love the packaging of all the Sleek products because it just looks so classy and sleek (see what I did there?). Anyway, this is no different. Black packaging with the logo and product type on the front in a perfect size for your makeup bag. It also has a really big mirror on the inside so this blush is really good for traveling and such.

So this is a really pretty rose coloured blush with gold shimmer through it which gives a really nice sheen to the cheeks without making you look like a glitter ball. This is the first Sleek blush I've tried and I'm so impressed! It has really high pigmentation and is really soft and easy to blend out. The picture doesn't do this blush justice because you can only really see the gold flex when it's swatched or on the cheeks and because of my camera, I couldn't really get a good picture of a swatch, sorry!! Anyway, if you're in a Superdrug or ordering from Sleek, definitely check this out, it's perfect for Autumn or Fall and it's really girly and wearable!

Skincare Update

Soap and Glory ~ No Clogs Allowed!

So, quite a while ago I purchased the No Clogs Allowed! super self-heating deep pore detox mask because I thought the concept of a 'self-heating' mask was really cool! The mask is pretty interesting actually, you smear it over your face and then, with wet finger tips, work it into the skin. As it reacts with the water, it heats up for a few seconds and then goes really refreshingly cold with a fresh, minty feel to it! After this, I instantly fell in love!

This is the old packaging so look out for a white tube with blue writing now!

Sadly, I was very disappointed with the results it had on my skin. I used it once a week for around 6 weeks and every week, my skin broke out more and more which was such a let down because I really loved putting the mask on and the whole idea behind it! For that reason though, I wouldn't recommend this because on my oily/combination skin, it really didn't do any favours. I also think that it would be a little too drying on drier skin.

Sorry for the lack of posts recently, been really busy with school!

Real Techniques Starter Set

So a couple of months ago I decided to finally treat myself to some much needed makeup brushes! Of course, I chose Real Techniques as they are my favourite brand for brushes because they are amazing quality yet really affordable! I bought the Starter Kit which consists of 5 brushes specifically designed for eye makeup.

From left to right: base shadow brush, eyebrow brush, pixel-point eyeliner brush, deluxe crease brush and accent brush.

Base Shadow Brush

I use this brush everyday to apply eyeshadows onto my lid and through the crease. It's the perfect density, really soft and blends products out really nicely. I think this is my favourite brush from the set!

 Eyebrow Brush

I like to use this brush to either blend eyebrow pencil through my brows (does that make sense?) or to fill them in with a powder. This brush is pretty dense which is great for me because it gets through my thick brows but, if you have sparser brows, you'll probably have to use a lighter hand.

Pixel-Point Eyeliner Brush

This brush is very very annoying for me! It's a great brush, don't get me wrong but it's just a little too thick for me as I like my eyeliner to be pretty thin. It is a really nice brush though, pretty flexible bristles and not sore on your eyelid! In fact it's really soft! It's perfect for gel eyeliner or even if you wanted to line your eyes with an eyeshadow.

Deluxe Crease Brush

This brush is huge and super dense! I really like this brush, especially for applying concealer under my eyes or to work a cream eyeshadow or eye primer onto my lid. It's also good for blending eyeshadows through the crease but I wouldn't recommend applying them with this because its just too big!

Accent Brush

This is absoloutely tiny! It's also nice and dense too which makes it perfect for adding a little highlight to your inner corner or smudging a dark powder accross your upper lash line. Its also great for adding a little bit more intensity - a darker colour or something - into your outer corner and then blending out with the Deluxe Crease Brush.

I love all of these brushes, just as much as I love Core Collection which is the set of 4 face brushes by Real Techniques. These are perfect for someone wanting to build up their makeup brush collection because they are fab quality and really affordable! I'll definitely be buying more brushes by Real Techniques because I love them!

Maybelline Gel Eyeliner

I've recently got into wearing a felt tip liner on my upper lash line and I wanted to try something new so I opted for the Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H as I'd heard loads of great things about it.

I purchased mine in the shade 01 Intense Black and I really like it! As you can see, it comes with a brush, however I don't use this to apply it, I use one of my own. First of all, I love the packaging! It comes in a frosted glass pot which looks pretty expensive and classy for a drugstore eyeliner. I also love the intense colour of this eyeliner which lasts all day and doesn't smudge or fade. I've not 100% mastered applying this yet but I feel that, with practice, I'll soon get it!

I recommend this eyeliner for anyone, even if you're just starting out with makeup as you get a great eyeliner and a pretty decent brush too! Great value for money and I'll definitely be repurchasing when  I run out!

Makeup Review

Rimmel Kate Moss

I have been looking for a really pretty red lipstick for a very long time, nothing too dark and nothing too subtle. I had heard great things about the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick line so I did some swatches in Boots and fell in love with one from the matte collection in the colour 110. It is a pink undertoned red and it's very vibrant! It also smells like watermelons which is always a plus!

I really like this lipstick! I find the colour lasts a very long time and only really wears off when eating or drinking. I do find, however that it's a little drying to the lips so definitely apply a lip balm or something 5-10 minutes before applying this as I tend to do with most lipsticks anyway. I also really like the packaging as it doesn't look cheap at all and I love that it's red! Overall, a great lipstick and really good value for money at only £5.49!

It is a lot brighter and less orange than the picture but this is just the way my camera picked up the colour, sorry!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

Massive apology for the lack of posts, I've been so busy over the holidays and had no time to blog, sorry!

So I recently ran out of the pressed powder I had been using and I was up for something new. I'd heard loads of great things about the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder so I went ahead and bought it at Boots for only £3.99. I got mine in the colour 'Peach Glow' and it think its a pretty good match!

First of all, I really like this powder! It's sets my makeup really nicely and holds it in place for a lot longer. It also keeps my face matte for a couple of hours before I need to reapply which is really good because the skin around my nose gets really oily throughout the day. I also like how it doesn't add too much extra colour to your face so you don't need to fret too much if the colour looks a bit dark or light for your skin.
I definitely recommend this product as its great value for money and 100% the best powder I've used!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil

So, I don't really have a reason for buying this eyeliner, I was just drawn to them because of the huge variety of colours, some that I had never seen in an eyeliner. I bought mine in the colour 'Junkie' which is a blue/green colour with quite large green and gold glitters through it.

First of all, this is the creamiest eyeliner I think I have ever used! It glides on so easily, yet it lasts all day! Once you have applied it, it's really easy to blend, however once it's set, it won't budge. It's also waterproof which I have found really useful during the summer as my eyelids get really oily and I have been in and out the water. I like to wear this with both a neutral eye or with a more vibrant eye look as it goes with quite a lot.

I will definitely be investing in another one of these Urban Decay eye pencils as they are literally the best eyeliners I have ever used. They do retail for £14 which is quite pricey for an eyeliner but I have already got my use out of it in just over a month of owning it. I love it!

Updated Makeup Routine

Summer Makeup Routine

So as it's the summer, I've been wearing much lighter makeup recently so my skin isn't weighed down with lots of product. I've not updated my makeup routine on this for you in ages so here it is, my summer makeup routine AND a quick summer outfit idea.

So I like to start out my routine with this daily moisturiser from soap and glory which is great because it is oil-free and I find it really mattifies and controls the oil on my face.

Next I move on to BB Cream which is great for summer as it is a lot lighter than foundation and also has an SPF of 15. This is my favourite one from Sleek and I wear it in the lightest shade. I like to put a bit on the back of my hand and buff it into my face using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush.

I then like to take my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the colour Light 2 over any blemishes and dark under-eye circles, buffing it in with my Real Tecniques Deluxe Crease Brush. This concealer is really full coverage and so cheap which is why it's my favourite.

I then like to set everything with my Rimmel Stay Matte powder in the shade Peach Glow. I'm in love with this powder because it literally keeps your makeup on all day and completely mattifies your skin. I like to apply mine with a fluffy blush brush from Bobbypin.

Next onto eyes. After applying my Benefit Stay Don't Stray eye primer, I like to work Venus eyeshadow from the Naked Basics palette over my eyelid and inner corner to brighten up the whole area with the shimmery shadow. I like to use the Real Tecniques Base Shadow Brush to do so.

I next like to take my Urban Decay 24/2 Glide-on eyeliner in Junkie along my upper lash line. Junkie is a blue/green colour with glitters in it which is soft, blendable and waterproof which literally won't budge after it's set. I then like to apply a couple of coats of the No.7 Exisite Curl mascara onto my top and bottom lashes.

Using the Real Tecniques Contour Brush, I like to sweep some Coralista blush over the apples of my cheeks and some Girl Meets Pearl (both products from Benefit) over the tops of my cheekbones and under my browbone.

To finish, I take my favourite Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the colour Honey which is a natural pink shade and apply this to my lips. I love this in the summer as it lasts for hours, is pretty waterproof and really moisturising.

And that's the makeup done! I love this look as it is really quick and simple. I can usually complete my makeup in under 10 minutes which is always handy! Here is my 'Typical Summer Outfit' to give you an idea on what I wear during the warmer months.

Benefit Primping with the Stars

From my besto Mhairi, I got the Primping with the Stars, Benefit box set for my birthday. This set includes 6 of their greatest 'fake its' products to 'primp yourself to star worthy status!'.
In the box, there are 6 minis of Stay Don't Stray concealing eye primer, the POREfessional face primer, Some Kind-a-Gorgeous foundation in medium, Benetint cheek and lip stain, Girl Meets Pearl liquid highlight and the best selling They're Real! mascara.

Stay Don't Stray

I like to use this concealing eye primer just as a primer, taking it across and under my lids. It has a really smooth and soft consistency and is really quick and easy to blend in. I find it holds the eyeshadows in place really nicely, however, when I use it - with my Naked Basics palette that is - I find they begin to crease after about 6-8 hours and start to fade slightly but it's a pretty good primer.

The POREfessional

I love this primer! It's meant to minimise the appearance of pores, which I don't really notice because my pores aren't too huge, but I find that it really mattifies my skin and holds my makeup in place a little longer than usual. I like to apply this around my nose area and blend it outwards.

Some Kind-a-Gorgeous

This is a sort of translucent cream foundation but it's really cool because when you apply it, it sort of turns into a powder! That sounds really stupid but it does, like as you blend it out it just turns powdery which is really good for if you have oily skin as it completely mattifies your face and I find I don't even have to set it with a powder. I really like to put this onto my face with my fingers and then buff it in using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush.

Benetint

This is a liquid tint for cheeks and lips in a rosy-pink colour which is really pretty and has a slight rose scent. I love to use this on both my cheeks or lips, applying straight into my lips, using around 2 coats, or dotting onto my cheeks and using the Real Tecniques Contour Brush to blend it in.

Girl Meets Pearl

I think this is my favourite product from the whole collection! It is a goldy, pearly liquid highlight which I use every day on the tops of my cheekbones. It gives a really pretty, shimmery finish and is very blendable and soft. I put a little dollop on the back of my hand and use my Real Tecniques Contour Brush again to work it over my cheekbones.

They're Real!

I'm assuming that you have probably heard or have used this mascara as I believe it is the UK's no.1 best selling mascara, which I think is fair enough, considering it is very very good. It has a plastic wand and is a pretty liquidy mascara which I quite like, however I found it quite tricky to apply the first couple of times. I really like the result it gives and I find it gives me more length than volume but still, a bit of both.

I really like this little gift set and it has everything you really need to create a basic makeup look. I believe it costs around £29.95, however I could be very wrong. It is definitely worth it though because I love all the products in the box!

Skincare Update

Bioderma

Anyway, a few weeks ago my mum went to Paris and brought me back some Bioderma! If you don't know what Bioderma is, it's just a super gentle makeup remover which looks and feels just like water! I think it's about €10 for 250ml in Paris but you can also buy it on amazon if Paris is a bit of a trek for a makeup remover. I've been really loving it because it's so gentle and takes of every trace of makeup, even waterproof mascara which is pretty cool. I also love how quick it is, just soak a cotton wool pad in it, swipe it over your face, holding it over the eye area for around 10 seconds, and you're good to go! I'm pretty sure it's planned to be brought to the UK soon, if not already so keep your eyes peeled for it in places like Boots or other pharmacies but I definitely suggest trying to get hold of it if you can!

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

So as you may know, my birthday was pretty recently and a couple of my most amazing friends, Jocelyn (thatssojocelyn on YouTube) and Heather, bought me the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette which I had always wanted but had never really thought about buying it because it's pretty pricey.

The tiny palette includes 6 neutral shades; Venus- a very shimmery, pearly, off-white colour, Foxy- a very pale yellow, Walk of Shame (W.O.S)- a nude beige, Naked 2- a warm taupey shade, Faint- a medium, quite warm brown and Crave- a super pigmented matte black.

All of the colours are very pigmented, very soft and super blendable. I like to wear these shadows on a day-to-day basis with Venus in my inner corner, W.O.S or sometimes Foxy over the lid, Naked 2 through the crease and Faint in blended into my outer corner. It's also nice to intensify the look a bit by taking Crave across the upper or lower lash line.

I really really like this palette and I think it includes the perfect shades to create a pretty, neutral eye. I just want to thank Jocelyn and Heather again and you should definitely check out Jocelyn's videos, I have linked her channel above.

Soap & Glory

So at the moment at Boots, Soap & Glory are doing a 3 for 2 on pretty much all their products so I thought this would be a good chance to sort of help to 'build up my collection' as I really like Soap & Glory because everything smells so good, but it is pretty pricey.. But yeah, I ended up buying the 'Sugar Crush' body wash and body scrub and the 'Girligo' moisturising body mist.

'Sugar Crush' Body Wash

I love this body wash. First of all, the bottle is HUGE! It's £6.50 for 500ml of the body wash so you're definitely getting loads for your money! So the scent is amazing. I'm pretty sure it's meant to be lime or something but I think it smells quite like cola bottles or sweets or something but its very fresh. It's also so good because when you put it on it lathers up so nicely but it also feels really really moisturising and it's like, the perfect balance!

'Sugar Crush' Body Scrub

This scrub smells exactly the same as the wash so yeah, glorious. It's a really gentle scrub actually which I quite like because I'm used to rougher scrubs, like 'Buffy' which I reviewed here, and it's also really moisturising. I think it's mainly sugar based which you can probably gather from the name but I thinks it has little fruit seeds or something in it too which adds to the sort of fresh feel.

'Girligo' Moisturising Body Mist

This stuff is so cool! I went in just looking for a body spray but I came across this which is like body spray meets moisturiser. It's super light which I like because you can just spray it straight onto your skin, rub it in and you're ready to go! It also has a really pretty, girly, typical Soap & Glory scent to it which lingers on your skin for hours while keeping it really hydrated.

So, pretty positive review on all of these products because I love them all! Soap & Glory never fails to impress!

No Posts!

I'm Sorry!

So it's been a while... Almost 2 months actually! I gave up on blogging as I found it too time consuming and a bit pointless because my blog was hardly read but whenever someone commented something nice on my posts, it encouraged me to write more. So that's what I'm going to do, start blogging again! It has recently been my birthday and I was fortunate enough to recieve lots of amazing gifts a lot of which I will try to review for you on this! Anyway, I hope to have some posts up over the summer and remember to let me know if there is anything in particular you'd like to see!

Sorry for the bad picture quality, they were just taken with my iPad, haha! But yeah, just a brief idea of some posts you might expect in hopefully the near future

Nail Polish Review

Sinful Colors

I'm really sorry for the lack of posts, but this time i actually have no excuse so yeah.. sorry!

Anyway, Sinful Colors are a really inexpensive brand of nail polishes which have recently been released in Boots stores over the UK. There are 70 shades ranging from cream to matte to shimmery to glittery and they are sold in 15 ml bottles (very similar to the China Glaze packaging) for only £1.99! At Boots they are doing a 3 for 2 deal so you can get three nail polishes for less than £4 which is a really realy good deal so I picked up six!

(From left to right) Gorgeous 293, Verbana 954, Mint Apple 947, Tokyo Pearl 112, Unicorn 953, Hazard 952

So I'll run through what the colours are all like first; Gorgeous is a shimmery metalic blue green, Varbana is a creamy lilac colour, Mint Apple is a slightly shimmery mint, Tokyo Pearl is a metalic pearly colour which looks quite silver on your nails after 2 coats, Unicorn is a pale yellow colour (not as pale as it looks in the picture) and Hazard is a creamy salmon colour.

I love the colour range and they have and the huge varieties of shades, shimmers, creams, mattes, there are so many to choose from! After 2 coats the colour becomes really opaque but you could probably get away with only 1. Without a top or base coat, I found that the polishes lasted on my nails for around 3-4 days before they began to chip a little which is really good for a nail polish for under £2! I also haven't found them to stain my nails.

If you are in a Boots then I reccommend picking up a couple, especially if the deal is on! They are definitely worth it! I know you can get them in parts of America, not sure where, but for around $2 so yeah, they are so worth it!

Quick Update

Skincare

So if you read my post on the Benefit Skincare line, I mentioned briefly at the end that I wasn't too sure which products I would repurchase because I really liked them all. Well I just thought I'd let you know that I went and bought the full size of the Foamingly Clean cleanser the other day because I really loved how gentle it was but still did a good job of cleaning my skin.. I also really liked the packaging though, haha! I think that I will probably also buy the full size of the Triple Performing Facial Emultion once I have ran out of the mini bottle because I think it's a really good day cream and works really well for me

Tips and Tricks

Matte Nails

So the other day I watched a video by Michelle Phan on how to make your nail polish look matte which was perfect because I was planning on buying a matte nail polish anyway. I just thought I would share the method with you because it's really easy and cool!

1. Paint your nails with any colour of nail polish
2. Fill a pan with water and put on to the heat
3. When the water begins to steam, quite quickly paint on your second coat of nail polish
4. Making sure your nails are still wet, hold them over the steam for around 10 seconds (don't hold too close or you might scald yourself!)
5. Now your nails should be matte! They will also look as though they are dry but they're not so leave them until they are before doing anything!

It's quite hard to see in the pictures the difference between the matte and the shiny because of the lighting but once you've done it you'll see how cool it is!
